Tony Russell, Esq., is among the most successful trial attorneys in the United States. He has dedicated his entire legal practice to being the voice of patients who have suffered catastrophic injuries, in order to protect the public and ensure our health care system is safe for all.
As a graduate of the University of Virginia, Tony is committed to representing individuals who have suffered injuries or lost their lives due to the negligent actions of others.
With a track record of over 100 jury trials, Tony has secured numerous verdicts exceeding $1 million, earning him recognition for achieving some of the largest jury awards in Virginia for the years 2017, 2018, and 2022. His advocacy extends to the Supreme Court of Virginia, where he has successfully represented plaintiffs in significant cases, including Sawyer v. Comerci and Monahan v. Obici Medical Management Services, among others.
Tony is esteemed within the legal community, holding memberships with the American Board of Trial Advocates, and he has been inducted as a Fellow into both the Litigation Counsel of America and the American Bar Foundation. His expertise has been acknowledged in the Best Lawyers in America® across several categories, including Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions for Plaintiffs and Personal Injury Litigation for Plaintiffs, with a notable distinction as the “Roanoke Lawyer of the Year for Personal Injury Litigation for Plaintiffs.” He also features in the Best Lawyers in America- Business Edition.
Beyond his law practice, Tony serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia School of Law. He has a profound affection for animals, which is evident in his care for his pets: Amarula, a chocolate Labrador; Middie, a domestic shorthair cat; and Champ, a Pit Bull mix.
